Last edited by captaineos on Fri 4:45 am, edited 2 times in total. Layers blend into one another, graphics glitch or black frame insertion occurs (!). Trust me I have tried it for various titles and it's hilarious. Unfortunately this is incompatible with real hardware.
This idea follows on the work for the PS2 emulator that enables progressive scan with PNACH codes, so one can avoid de-interlacing on a PC.

I'd also like to report on simply doing the 240p patching in OPL via PNACH codes converted to PS2RD. Photos showing Maximo vs Army of Zin running on a Sony PVM-14L5 in hex-edited 240p mode: NTSC sources, HxD for windows, OPL to load games from internal HDD.

I managed this by regularily saving my game and restarting in NTSC mode to watch the movie (only 2 I think) then going back to 240p later. Despite the large playability improvements from 240p, some in game videos cause Army of Zin to crash.
The patched ISOs will default to 240p on boot but can be restored easily to 480i with GSM set to 'NTSC'. Patching to 240p gives crystal clear motion and no combing artefacts, albeit with lower resolution hud. This created scaling problems as the game would get blurry when you spun around or moved. I put about 2 hours into working out that the game runs in 480i but has the main game as a lower resolution with the on screen hud at true 480i. Time Crisis: Crisis Zone Īnd these two Capcom beauties are essential viewing when patched to 240p. The following titles are working well with the hex edit: I've worked my way through hex editing my collection and found some positive results! Now you can burn/patch with ESR as usual. It will highlight the value just like the first time. Again make sure you have Hex-Values and All selected. You need to repeat this process again with different values so bring up the find menu again and copy 01 00 24 32 04 00 06 a6 into the search field. With the values highlighted, press CTRL V to paste 00 00 04 20 ff 00 45 32Īfter pasting it will be red, this is normal. When it has found the values it will highlight it, don't click or type anything. Make sure you change Datatype to "Hex-Values" and Search Direction to "All". Copy 01 00 24 32 ff 00 45 32 into the search field. Open your iso in HxD, click search in the top bar and then find(or press CTRL F) to bring up the find menu. From the system's beginnings in 2000 until the PS3 finally took its place in 2006, the PS2 cranked out classic title after title. If the PS1 represented the golden era for J-RPG fans, the PS2 was the rare sequel that was just as good as the original.
